Designing With Web - Part 3: week 1

Encourage car sharing experience for your parents thanks to gaming

Group 50

Project 1: C2C

Context

when? where? who? why?

Our observation is simple. We have noticed that car-sharing does not really interest our parents. There are several reasons for this :

First, we don't necessarily want to share our car.

Second, the lack of comfort we may feel in someone else's car,

Finally, we don't necessarily want to waste our time.

There comes our solution !

We created an app that enables families to drive together to schools and then to work ! Find families that live nearby and travel together to gain points and have a surprise at your office ! Whether you're a passenger or a driver, get started, we'll take care of finding someone to share your journey with.

A free and intuitive app, a calendar to enter... It's as simple as that! Helping employees' well-being, increasing their free time at home, reducing the pollution in towns: carpooling between home and work with your colleagues is a gesture for your wallet and the planet!

Target

for whom?

For families, workers, who are tired of taking their cars all the time and every day. Try it one time and you will see that it saves you money and time !

Service offered

what? how?

  • A study approach on the problems of urban transportation, it can be very enriching for our project because it will show why parents tend to use car sharing rather than public transports.

  • This study explains how car sharing reduces gas emission in cities, and why it should be more used. This can explain why companies should use our app and reward their employees for reducing gas emission and participate in the fight against climate change.

    Project 2: Connect & Play

    Context

    when? where? who? why?

In the same way as before, our observation is the same.

There is a strong disinterest of parents towards carsharing.

Nevertheless, we notice that smartphone games are still popular, whether on public transport, at home, on a break to relax.

According to reuteurs.com , Nearly 65 percent of U.S. adults, or more than 164 million people, play games. The most popular genre is casual games, with 60 percent of players gaming on their smartphones. Also, by 2021, it is estimated that mobile gaming will generate the largest proportion of total gaming revenue worldwide.

To combine carsharing and gaming, we came up with a concept that would link the two, in a very fun way.

We want to create an application that fits into your lives, without you even being aware of it. Keep playing your favorite games and accumulate carsharing benefits as you progress.

We will partner with existing mobile applications and carsharing companies to create a system of tiered discounts to encourage people to use carsharing services without requiring them to make an extra effort. Gaming will thus serve carsharing.

    Target

    for whom?

Anyone with a driver's license and a mobile phone is our target. With this system integrated into games already in regular use, we want to target mainly parents, who are not necessarily familiar with carsharing. Through this application, they will discover its advantages and will be able to use this service.

    Service offered

    what? how?

We offer a service that fits subtly into your daily life. Keep playing your favorite games and at the same time accumulate advantages for carsharing services. Our application takes into account your advances in our partner game applications and transforms them into monetary benefits for carsharing.

For example, according to Statista.com, Candy Crush Saga has gone on to be one of the most successful mobile games of all time, with the original game and its various sequels generating over one billion U.S. dollars in player spending worldwide in 2018.

So our idea is to target games like candy crush saga and develop partnerships. For each level of difficulty passed, our service offers you a free ticket for one trip.

Of course, we will limit the number of trips offered per user, in order to encourage users to be more autonomous in the carsharing process. The idea is to re-develop the interest of carsharing among parents while having fun at the same time!
